Nowadays many of us decide to make a long vacation or even pause in own job and career in order to see the world. Indeed, today, when borders become just a slight problem and countries that have considered "closed" ones even 20 years ago become open for tourists, thousands of people want to explore their adventurous nature and visit new places.
If you have a family and children, you may consider going to popular resorts or famous tourist destinations that offer sightseeing or relax. People who are yet single usually want to visit new continents and countries. Good if you have friends, who share same passion, but what should one do if he or she is eager to see Asia or explore South America countries and there’s no one who is ready cooperate?
Today solo tourism becomes more popular. When you travel alone, you’re more mobile and you’re the only one who decides where and when to go. For both male and female travelers going solo means saving, sometimes even a lot. Just try to get a discount in hotel and you’ll see it works. Another advantage is better social integration. When you make a trip in a group hardly you can dive into local atmosphere. Being alone there’s no choice – you will need to deal with locals, learn their language and thus feel national culture even sharper.
Male solo tourists have become usual these days, but what about girls? I’d say if you’re a girl, you shouldn’t hesitate. Gender equality is a world tendency and I know females who successfully travel around the world and feel no discomfort. The only advice applicable is to check your desired route carefully - some conservative and traditional societies may be a problem for a girl travelling alone.
In any case vast majority of people who have ever tried solo travelling say they will never go back to old stereotyped group trips and make plans for new adventures.
